JANUARY NEWS from the Library:
Students are again filling the halls and classrooms and library with their chatter and laughter as we start back to school in 2020.
Quarter #3 has begun. New Library students in grades 6 and 8 will meet for class and begin to learn about using the library.
Library Skills classes are based on ND Library Standards put out by the ND Dept. of Public Instruction.
We begin class daily with bell work in order to become focused, and, after attendance, we begin the lesson of the day.
Students are filling out "All About Me" sheets and Acceptable Use policy sheets along with Social Contracts today, during class.
Tomorrow, students will take a Responsible Use pretest, and, then discuss how they can show responsible use in the library and throughout the day in their other classes and activities.
High schoolers will soon be working on term papers for Mrs. Danks' 9th grade classes, and, other teachers will be bringing students to the library to do Power Point projects or other research that relates to their curriculum.
Students are welcome to stop in the library before or after school to check out a book, use a computer, play LEGO, or do an "MakerSpace"activity (crossword puzzle, origami, etc). They may also stop in during HS lunch time from 12:20-12:50. We are closed Wednesdays, but open all other school days. Students may ask their teacher for a pass to the library also. (Books are checked out for 2 weeks and can be returned in the white drop box outside the library or put on the front counter).
Book return contests are still in effect for both the Middle School and High School students. Rewards will be given in the near future, for both Middle and High school students who have returned their overdue books. Middle schoolers will have winning homerooms, high schoolers will win individually.
That's all for now!
Remember: There's "S'NO"time like the present, to curl up with a good book!
