This is a friendly reminder that prom is coming up soon! Students must be eligible in grades and attendance in order to attend. We encourage all students to stay on top of these things so they can attend and have a great experience on April 2nd!
The ASVAB will be given to 10-12 grade students that have not passed it in the past on March 3rd. Please ensure that your child gets proper rest prior to the test. There are practice tests online to help your child prepare.
The ACT will be given to all juniors on March 8th at 8:30 am. All juniors have been placed in an ACT Prep course in the online program Odysseyware. Please encourage your child to prepare to do his or her best on this assessment. Together, we can prepare these kids to do well. School Schedule Notice
The school district will extend their days by thirty minutes to make up for the 2 days of school missed on November 22nd-23rd for sanitizing the schools due to Covid.
Extended days will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays for the weeks of March 14th-18th, March 21st-25th, March 28th-April 1st; April 4th-7th
Edwin Loe Elementary School will dismiss at 4:10 pm
New Town Middle School & New Town High School will dismiss at 4:15 pm
Message from Interim Superintendent Bluestone:
Students that get checked out of school by their parents to go to the game after 2:30 pm will not be counted absent.

It was a busy day for the New Town Eagles. The speech team did amazing and brought home a state qualifier. The wrestling team brought home a state qualifier. Finally, the girls basketball team won the District Championship! It’s a great day to be a New Town Eagle’s fan!!!

New Town Eagle Speech Team traveled to Stanley today and brought home 3 -1st placers including one state qualifier. Hazen Thomas—1st plce in Dramatic Interp (SQ), Xaria Bell—1st place in Poetry, Hazen Thomas and Shali Heart—1st place in Serious Duo, Marissa DeGroot—7th place in Poetry, and Freja Schuelstrip—7th place in Humourous.
From Interim Superintendent Marc Bluestone: A soft lockdown was held at the elementary school this morning. A student had distributed marijuana laced gummy bears to several classmates. After a complete search of the school, additional gummy bears were found. We are asking parents to be on the lookout for gummy bears especially if they were not in a manufactured package. These gummy bears were found in Ziploc baggies. Two arrests were made. The students and staff are safe.
Thank you to the MHA Nation Law Enforcement Department, the MHA Division of Drug Enforcement, and the City of New Town Police for their assistance and for their quick and thorough response to this unfortunate situation.
