It has been determined that there is no threat. The lockdown has been lifted. Everything is all clear. Thank you for your patience while law-enforcement investigated.

Good afternoon the lockdown at the high school has been lifted and has been changed to a soft lockdown. This means no students can leave the building until the soft lockdown has been lifted, but they are free to move about the building to their classes.

Due to the lockdown the school board meeting that was scheduled for today at 12:15 has been moved to 6 PM

NTHS/MS is on lockdown due to a 911 call made reporting a possible threat. Law enforcement is onsite and is investigating. The elementary school is on a soft lockdown in response. We will keep you informed as more information is available.

We are aware of the adult individuals who have placed plastic Easter Eggs filled with candy around the New Town High School parking lot and have notified Three Affiliated Tribes Law Enforcement through one of our School Resource Officers. No one was harmed or injured. TAT Law Enforcement is investigating this matter and will deal with these individuals appropriately

NEW TOWN ANNUAL SCHOOL ELECTION Two three-year positions on the New Town School Board are to be filled at the Annual School Election June 10, 2025. Members whose three-year terms expire are Bryon Brady Jr., who represents the North Rural Area, and Delvin Driver, Jr., who represents the South Rural Area. Monday, April 7, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., is the deadline for filing for candidates who wish to have their names appear on the ballot in the June 10, 2025 school election. Candidates must be resident voters of the area designated. Those who wish to have their name appear on the ballot as candidates may pick up forms at the school business office in the High School/Middle School building. Candidates will also have to file a Statement of Interests form which is also available at the school business office. The election will be held June 10, 2025, with the balloting for candidates limited to voters residing in the North Rural Area and the South Rural Area of the school district. NORTH RURAL AREA is the area east of Lake Sakakawea, north of Highway 23 and includes the area within city limits west of Highway 1804 to 3rd Street South. SOUTH RURAL AREA is the area east of Lake Sakakawea, south of Highway 23 and includes the area within the city limits south of Eagle Drive (2nd Street) from Highway 1804 to College Drive, with the exception of the area between 3rd Street South and 4th Street South from East Avenue to West Avenue (Previously known as the Prairie Winds Trailer Court Area).
